hap you just need to reload your machine if you're still running 2000, they stopped or will stop releasing security updates for it very soon. Best to just back up your stuff and re-load. msn me if you need any help

People underestimate a properly configured W2K.
Start > Run > REGEDIT
Navigate to here;
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\Run
Delete any references to the executable you do not want to run.
Navigate to here;
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Run
Delete any references to the executable you do not want to run.
Start > Run > CMD
CD\
dir/s/b filename.exe
If it locates the file, delete it.

It's possible doing it manually, or running an automated utility to repair registry references could fix her problem... but it's pretty safe to assume her machine is somewhat to moderately compromised at this point, and I doubt that's the only problem with it. In the interest of time re-loading is generally a lot faster, especially if all you do is play games on it. Anyway just my opinion, everyone has their own way of doing things when it comes to computers, I was merely trying to offer a simple long-term solution for her.

Reloading W2K clean is a bitch unless you have service packs on CD, because if you have to connect to download them with a non-service pack install, it's probably not going to work.
