I am running a Haunted House for a street block party for my kid's school.

I am looking for Haunted House ideas for a target audience of k-5. What are the best things u have seen at a haunted house that can be done easily. That is cheap, little man-power, and easy to put together.

What are your thoughts on this. I remember disneyland last year... the most popular stop might have been the star wars exhibit. smoke, stormtroopers run from the back. jedi come out the front to defeat them. lights go off. more smoke. darth maul and darth vader appear. they take jedi volunteeers. give em a jedi robe. plastic lightsaber and they go toe to toe with darth maul and darth vader.

i have never seen, in my lifetime, kids go from pure joy to being scared like they have never been scared before ever in the very next minute.

is this a good idea or bad idea for a haunted house. i could use a corner of the house and kids would have to pay a dollar to take 3 swings at darth vader.

lf ideas Please.

A couple of years ago, i disguised as a scarecrow with a big rubber mask and sat in a big chair. When kids were coming to my house for candy, i just moved a little and say booo ! Lots of fun and laughs.

Last year, i made a mannequin by stuffing old clothes and closed my car hood on it with my hazzards on to fake a accident with somekind of creepy music going in the car sound system. It was really fun, kids were taking pictures just besides my car, lol.

As for you Star Wars idea, i think it's really cool. You just need a couple of light sabers from wall-mart, borrow a smoke machine and get some Star Wars music and you in for a lot of fun !

okay, here we are with the haunted house.

i am the grim reaper with a 8 ft scythe.

i gesture ppl into the haunted house in groups of 6-10.

room 1: mad scientist.
room 2: graveyard.
room 3: spooky stairwell area that i am using as a U turn to funnel ppl back where they came from.
room 4: ghost tv/ dvd with person scaring them.
room 5: disney princess with two face.

good news is that the people are very creative and full of gung ho.

bad news is the whole thing doesnt fit.

so... i need a story.... id like major help if possible.

--------------------

you walk into entr of haunted house. posterboards show a dog with a msg: please help me find my person, jenny.

another posterboard with handprints, mayb in reddish blood.

next posterboard. im alive. im alive. im trapped.

next posterboard. HELP ME HELP ME HELP ME HELP ME
ala prince of darkness

enter first room, scientist does her thing and then blah blah oh and jenny had a stroller.

second room, oh and jenny had a pink sweater on.

stairwell, we could put a figure of a little girl in the corner of the stairwell with tape around it, like a body died there and then... uh... leave a toy stroller there.

then... we can scare them out of the stairwell with the ghost saying... ' jenny is not here, Cinderellla HAS HER.'

kids move on to ghost tv/ dvd etc.

then finally to last room.

cinderalla tells them all to sit down on circle time mat for a story. she starts reading

at the end she says... u know the funny thing, boys and girls fr all over keep looking for jenny. and she's right behind you.

everyone turns around and there is a doll in a pink sweater missing a head.

while everyone is turned around, cinderella shows the other side of her two face raises a toy knife and says.

i got her and now im going to get you all.

run kids out of haunted house.

the end.

------------

stupid?

i need a story with a twist, semi interesting to tie this all together

HELP ME

well, the haunted house was a mega success. we sold 2700 tickets. $4 a pop and we made bank. we were written up in nyc mags all over and the reviews since have been glowing.

ive gone from a nobody to the current school hero. but, no one person can do anything remotely this good alone. yea i took the lead, but i had just about the best draw of 5 volunteer parents i could possibly imagine.

the first picture was in my exhibit area. it is a rubber man attached to a oil barrel machine. there is a motion detector that sees the children and then starts 'hurling.' on the 3rd hurl, the guy vomits water. water is recycled via water pump. the green light i added enough eerieness to be scary.

the kids absolutely thought it was thrilling and gross.

the second pic looks terrible but it really was our whatintheworld showpiece. there is a strobe light. the key is that the hawaiian punch blood is coming out of periodic faucet. the strobe light is slowed enough so it looks like the blood is going backwards up Into the faucet.

for little kids, they just stared and thought it was the coolest thing in the world.
