File Recovery Program...

So my situation is, I have a video file from about a year ago that I manually deleted, and i'd like it back, is there any file recovery programs out there that actually work? If so, anyone have a link?:delf2_16:

when did you delete it? and have you written to that drive since you've deleted it?

Empty the recycle bin, download pr0n, start defragging.

about 6 months ago, but i haven't installed anything really on my laptop.

if you use your laptop regularly, the chances of recovery are slimmer than if you'd tried to get a solution asap.

easyrecovery from ontrack and recover my files are the two I generally use around here. I also used O&O rescuebox, but it was "too pricey" to keep updating for my boss' tastes.

if you look around, you can find a "portable" version of a variety of recovery apps that work (as long as you get to the file fast enough), which don't require installation, hence "portable." one popular one is "advanced file recovery."
